Deepdale apartment offers the best in modern living in one of the most beautiful Lake District valleys surrounded by mountains and close to Lake Ullswater. The lake provides plenty of activities with lake cruises as well as boat hire and a sailing centre. There is no need to drive to access the excellent walking.
Surrounding our property are low level rambles to high fells including Helvellyn, St. Sunday Crag and the High Street Ridge. Both Patterdale and Glenridding village are close by and have well stocked local shops and pubs for bar meals etc. It is a great place from which to explore the Lake District and we have recently finished a total refurbishment of our apartment adding some extra luxuries.
A set of black metal steps lead up to the front door which takes you into our entrance vestibule, a great place for drying boots and clothes or to sit with a glass of wine in the evening sun.
This attractive room has a beamed ceiling, solid oak flooring and a Lakeland stone fireplace with a multi fuel stove and electric heaters. There is a bay window seating area with dinning table from where you can enjoy fine views to Place Fell.
The lounge has 2 small sofas to relax in comfort and a flat screen TV with satellite freeview programmes, a DVD player, CD player and ipod docking station. There is a selection of DVDs, CDs and books for you to use.
The modern, well equipped kitchen is a real cook’s delight with plenty of cooking utensils.
The kitchen has granite work surfaces and there is a fan oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dish washer, microwave and plate warmer. The hob is in a central island looking onto the main living area with a breakfast bar, plenty of space to prepare food and still enjoy what is going on in the living area or just sit and have coffee and breakfast in the morning looking out through the kitchen windows to the Lakeland hills.
The living area leads into an internal hall with oak floor and panelled walls, we like to call this the reading room as it is a comfortable area where you can sit and read in peace and quiet or plan your next day from the maps, books on the local area, walking guides and magazines.
There is a spacious double bedroom with a large window overlooking Grisedale Beck from which you can watch the wildlife.
For those that like their pleasures more high tech there is a TV and DVD player so that you can sit in bed and enjoy entertainment. This pleasant bedroom again has an oak floor and is well furnished with a traditional brass bed, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. There is an electric heater for those cooler nights. Bed linen is provided and the bed will be made ready for your arrival.
The bathroom has a bit of luxury in natural travertine stone with a large double ended bath and a place for a wine glass. There is a powerful shower over the bath. The heated towel rail and under floor heating means that you will always have warm toes. There is of course a WC and a wash hand basin. Over the hand basin is a lighted mirrored cabinet with shaver point.
There is a dedicated off road parking area for a car opposite the apartment. We have a garden with a newly added large patio space just behind the parking. It catches the sun all day and is a great place to sit out and admire the mountain views. There is a charcoal BBQ and table and chairs to enjoy alfresco dinning.
Sorry, but we do not accept pets and there is no smoking at Deepdale Apartment.
